Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Gamay from the Fleurie commune opens with red plum and forest floor bouquet with hints of gentle strawberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and easy to drink. The flavor profile is strawberry and red plum blend with notes of chalky minerality and loam. I also detected hints of oak and black raspberry in the mix. The finish is dry, and its flavors and earthy tannins linger and last for quite some time. I would pair this Fleurie with stuffed red bell peppers. Enjoy – Ken
