Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Gamay Noir from the Cote du Py area in the Morgon commune in Beaujolais opens with a black cherry and plum bouquet with hints of dried potting soil and saddle leather. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and polished. The flavor profile is a graphite and licorice with notes of blackberry and oak. We also detected hints of light cherry and Worcestershire sauce at the very end. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and fine tannins fade away. We would pair this food friendly and versatile Gamay with coq au vin. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: An overall darker and more densely structured texture marks the initial impression for these wines. As the complex layers unfold there are impressions of black fruit, Asian spice notes, and a dramatically long finish.
