Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored opens with a black cherry and cedar plank bouquet with a hint of barnyard funk. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic, round and smooth. The flavor profile is a refined graphite and blackberry blend with notes of anise and black tea. There are hints of loam and black pepper mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its refined tannins and tingly acidity linger nicely. This very good Malbec from Cahors is food friendly and would pair nicely with a bison meatloaf or a sweet chili flatbread from Rail Trail. Enjoy – Ken and Rick
