Wine Review: This opaque and midnight purple colored Malbec from Crocus in Cahors, France opens with a blackberry and black cherry bouquet with hints of dark chocolate and a touch of balsamic. On palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and luscious. The flavor profile is a green olive and slightly underripe cherry blend with notes of black plum and sage. I also detected hints of mild balsamic, black licorice, and acai berry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this well-made Malbec with a slow cooked beef brisket platter. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Displaying a vibrant garnet hue, this Malbec opens with an expressive nose brimming with fresh black and red fruit aromas — gooseberry, strawberry, and black currant. The palate is lively and juicy, showcasing bright elderberry and mulberry flavors, balanced by smooth tannins and a subtle touch of white pepper on the finish.
