Wine Review: This translucent dark ruby colored Pinot Noir from Cuvaison opens with a gentle cedar and mild black raspberry bouquet with hints of black cherry, mocha, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is very nicely balanced, super smooth, polished, and delicate. The flavor profile is very tasty red raspberry and stone dust blend with notes of dried strawberry and cola. We also detected hints of mild red plum, chocolate, fig, and black pepper. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed mild and refined tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this Pinot elegant with filet mignon or with a bone in pork chop. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: After a four-year hiatus, our young Mariafeld Pinot Noir vines rewarded us with their first crop. Originally from Switzerland, this unique clone is a nod to Cuvaison's Swiss roots. Unlike its French counterparts, Mariafeld produces loose clusters with vibrant acidity, tannin, and deep color. At Tai Vineyard, it yields a darker, floral expression with notes of wild strawberry, cherry, persimmon, and plum. The cool, late 2023 vintage brought real verve, balancing bright fruit with a silky texture that softens the tannins and extends the finish.
