Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Zinfandel port from Cypher is impressive and my preferred style of dessert port. It opens with a dark rum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied and slightly acidic. The flavor profile is a gentle brandy with notes of creamy caramel, red raspberry jam, and brown sugar. The finish is dry and its flavors linger and last for a very long time. Enjoy this very nice finishing wine with dark chocolate covered strawberries. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Just like the stone encrusted creatures that woke up and caused mischief on the roof of the Gothic apartment building in Ghost Busters... the Cypher Gargoyle has risen! This bad boy has been sleeping for a long time... since 2007... in the dark corners of the Cypher barrel cellar. A brooding blend of port style wine made from exceptional dry farmed Zinfandel grapes of the Dante Dusi Vineyard, then aged for 5 years to create an unbelievably elegant, fruity, sexy beast. On the nose: Velvet raspberry, cassis, and exotic spice laced with Provincial herb. Intrigue and anticipation. On the palate: Velvet mouthfeel that is loaded with lush raspberry fruit twists and curves along the body with lavender and spice. The flavors linger prolonging the sensations and trail into a sexy vanilla oak finish. Best served with a willing companion.
