Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and dark red colored Mourvedre from Cypher opens with a pomegranate bouquet with a hint of strawberry and craisin. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is red plum with notes of oak, clove and black pepper. I also detected hints of cinnamon and pomegranate mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and fruit are nicely extended. This Mourvedre would pair well with rosemary and garlic lamb chops. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: A varietal not often seen on its own, but worthy of recognition. I love the dark blackberry fruit, black pepper, and anise, tobacco, and a splash of Petite Sirah brings big blueberry and dark fruit to the mid-palate.
