Wine Review: This impressive opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet from St. Helena finished tied for second in our first big blind tasting of High End Reds. It opens with a black cherry and cassis like bouquet with a hint of eucalyptus. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and elegant. The flavor profile is a black cherry and boysenberry blend with hints of mild minerality and gentle oak. The finish is dry and its solid tannins build up and stick around for quite some time. The panel suggested pairing the really good Cabernet with a well-marbled ribeye steak or a rib roast and perhaps a cigar. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: 2010 is vintage that brought tremendous black fruit to the profile of many wines in Napa Valley, and our 2010 Moose Valley Cabernet is no exception. An enticing nose of black cherry and dark blackberry intertwined with clove, allspice, vanilla pudding, dark chocolate, and light sage notes fills the glass. The palate has the hallmark elegance and supple quality of Moose Valley Vineyard, yet is very dense and flavorful, with copious fine grained tannins providing balance and length to the soaring finish. A powerful wine with a sense of poise and personality.
