Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Syrah from the Bennett Valley opens with an appealing black cherry-cola bouquet with hints of dark chocolate and blueberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a cedar infused mild black raspberry with notes of minerality and plum. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and flavors drift away nicely. This Syrah is really showing nicely now and opened up after breathing for about an hour. I would have this wine with braised short ribs. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: A medium-dark cherry red color. Aromas of white pepper, graphite pencil shavings, cranberry and other red fruits. Nice volume, medium body, and an elegant acid/tannin balance that gives the wine great focus. Flavors of beef jerky, cedar, and tobacco linger on a long finish. Drink now through 2021.
