Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Davis Estates is impressive. It opens with a fragrant black currant and blackberry bouquet with a hint of black cherry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced, round and savory. The flavor profile is mineral influenced black currant and black olive with notes of black pepper, oak, coffee, black plum and black licorice. It’s pretty complex. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins stick around for a very long time. This Cabernet would pair nicely with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon is a brilliant and dark ruby color very pleasing to the eye. Aromas of cassis, blueberries, and savory smoked meat invite the first sip. The impressive entry and concentrated mouthfeel has a surge of ripe dark fruit that leads to a long finish. This is an impressive wine that offers great value in Napa Cabernet.
