Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Davis Estates opens with a mild black currant and oak bouquet with hints of anise, blueberry, and book leather. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, plush, dense, and smooth. The flavor profile is a blackberry and black currant blend with notes of rich dark chocolate and oak. We also detected hints of black tea, graphite, and anise mixed in. The finish is dry, and its flavors and very chewy tannins stick around for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would decant this Cab for at least an hour and then serve it with a well-marbled ribeye or with grilled short ribs. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Our 2018 Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful rich ruby color with a bright crimson rim. Its aromas of warm blackberry pie and cherry compote integrate with the rich earthy quality we love and expect from this AVA, known as "Rutherford dust." The palate is full of inviting flavors from silky caramel, warm vanilla and rich coca, to candied cherry and dried blackberries. The palette is powerful with lively acidity and a well-balanced luxurious finish. This youthful wine is bold with strong tannins that will continue age gracefully over the next decade.
