Wine Review: This bright, easy drinking Chardonnay from South Africa is a light golden yellow color. The bouquet is a bit restrained, but has some pineapple, caramel and baking spice aromas. It is juicy and balanced with a medium body and medium acidity. The flavor profile is quite tropical, with grapefruit, apricot, minerality and a hint of vanilla. The finish is moderate in length with some lime notes showing up. Serve this good value Chard with fried calamari with lime aioli to go along with it. - Mark

Winemaker Notes: DMZ is DeMorgenzon's value label, where the objective is to produce classic, elegant, well-balanced wines that overdeliver in terms of quality for price. This wine shows sweet vanilla and hints of almonds on the nose with a clean tropical fruit finish. Delicate oak flavors support a rich and full fruit flavor in the mouth, with layers of white peach, apricot, grapefruit and vanilla.
