Wine Review: This pitch black colored Tempranillo from Diaz Bayo is a very good value. It opens with a faint black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and pleasantly round in the mouth. The flavor profile is a rich black currant, black tea and oak blend. I also detected hints of minerality, black plum, black olive and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This Tempranillo is food friendly and would pair well with a pot roast. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Aged 12 months in French oak and 12 months in bottle, balsamic and mineral/spice notes accent fresh and focused fruit concentration.
