Wine Review: This inky purple colored Tempranillo from Diaz Bayo opens with a musty oak and root beer bouquet with hints of cherry and violet. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, very smooth and nicely balanced. The flavor profile is a tasty mild root beer and gentle oak blend with notes of black cherry. I also detected hints of black licorice, dried fig and fine grained minerality. The finish is rather dry and its dusty tannins are sticky and linger and last for a very long time. This Tempranillo is built for meat! I would pair it with grilled skirt steak. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Aged 12 months in French oak and then 12 months in bottle. This 100% Tempranillo displays balsamic and mineral/spice notes that accent fresh and focused fruit concentration.
