Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah from Domaine A. Clape in Cornas opens with a cedar and black cherry bouquet with hints of smoke meat, garrigue, clover, and stone dust. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is beautifully balanced, silky smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is tasty mild cedar and slightly tart black cherry blend with notes of graphite and black olive. We also detected hints of black pepper, black tea, cured meat, and touch of black licorice. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and polished medium tannins stick around for quite some time. We would pair this Syrah with a charcuterie platter or with a Kobe cap steak at Grill 23. Enjoy - KWGTP
