Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Syrah from Crozes-Hermitage opens with a fragrant beef stick and blackberry jam bouquet with hints of moist pipe tobacco. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with plus acidity for a Syrah. The flavor profile is a cedar influenced smoked beef stick with notes of ripe plum, black currant, and loamy earth. I also detected hints of black pepper and green olive in the after taste. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. This Syrah has rustic qualities. Therefore, I would pair it with a rustic meal like beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Lush dark fruit, black cherry, and violet aromas lead to notes of brambly fruit, pepper, and earth on the polished palate. This wine is medium-full bodied with a very balanced acidity. Fresh and savory, this Crozes-Hermitage drinks beautifully now, but will continue to gracefully age in the years to come.
