Wine Review: This clear and pale and pale straw-colored Chardonnay from Domaine Drouhin opens with a lemon and green tea bouquet with hints of lime zest and dried herbs. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, and seamless. The flavor profile is green apple and white tea blend with notes of stone dust and white pepper. I also detected hints of dried herbs and lemon. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger and last for a while. I would pair this Sauvignon Blanc with Ritz cracker encrusted baked haddock. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Our 2023 Chardonnay Arthur offers freshness, complexity, and gorgeous flavors. It is a combination of our specific place in the Dundee Hills and well-loved vines that were planted 30 years ago. Right up front, the nose opens with clear notes of orange orchard, lemon, green apple, and a hint of baking spice. On the palate, a delightful minerality intertwines with flavors of citrus, baked apple and honeysuckle. Drinking beautifully now, this Chardonnay should be something to behold over the next 7-10 years.
