Wine Review: This opaque and dark ruby colored Gamay from Domaine Dupeuble opens with a black cherry and black raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and round. The flavor profile is a stony minerality and slightly tart black plum blend with notes of black cherry and oolong tea. I also detected a hint of licorice and a dash of black pepper at the very end. The finish is dry and refreshing. I would serve Gamay slightly chilled before pairing it with a seafood paella. - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This wine presents aromas of black plum, black raspberry, and dried red cherry open on the nose followed by subtle notes of dried hay. Velvety tannins and a healthy undercurrent of acidity impart depth on the lingering finish. Fatty cuts of meat need a dry wine like this one that will meet the challenge head on.
