Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Syrah from the Côtes du Rhône Villages opens with a funky tar and moist pipe tobacco bouquet with notes of craisin and black currant in the background. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and juicy. The flavor profile is a blackberry, plum and graphite blend with notes of cedar, clove and anise. I also detected some hints of plump raisin towards the very end. The finish is dry and its flavors linger and last for a while. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: Full-bodied and extremely well-rounded, this wine shows hearty notes of burnt earth, spice and red currant on the nose. The palate is marked by elements of sundried red fruits, dry Provençal herbs, hints of mint and pepper. Jammy forest fruit on the palate, balanced with linear acidity make this low-yield cuvée of one the more stunning from the region.
