Wine Review: This clear and pale straw-colored Chardonnay from Domaine Sangouard Guyot opens with a ginger and lemon verbena bouquet with hints of wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, clean, and fresh. The flavor profile is lemon verbena and stony minerality blend with notes of ginger tea. We also detected hints of lime zest and grapefruit pith. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity linger nicely. We would pair this versatile Chard with baked scallops. Enjoy – Ken & Mark
Winemaker Notes: Straightforward, rich, and complex, it has a characteristic hint of minerality which allows it to partner noble crustaceans (lobster or crayfish) as well as foie gras. With beautifully balanced acidity and smoothness, it also goes well with fish or white meats (veal or poultry) in cream sauce.
