Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Beaujolais from the Julienas commune opens with a blackberry and potting soil bouquet with hints of red cherry, oregano, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and silky. The flavor profile is black plum and loam blend with notes of blackberry and tart cherry. We also detected hints of stony minerality, rhubarb and black pepper. The finish is dry, and its mild dusty tannins show very nice length. The Tasting Panel would pair this Beaujolais with lamb lollipops, or the Rail Trail pulled pork Hawaiian flatbread. Enjoy – KWGTP
