Wine Review: This light-yellow colored Riesling from Dr. H. Thanisch (Erben Muller-Burggraef) opens with a candle wax, ginger and light lemon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and off-dry with pleasant gentle acidity. The flavor profile is a mild sweet tea and ginger blend with notes of apricot. I also detected some hints of white pepper and pineapple in the background. The finish remains off-dry, soft and delicate. This is a very nice summer sipper, that can be enjoyed slightly chilled on its own. With food, it would pair very nicely with a bay scallops scampi. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: It is underlined by a lively acidity and minerality so typical of the Doctor vineyard site. It is an extremely complex wine with a tremendous aging potential. Carries an aroma of hot stones, with dark currant and nectarine flavors supported by a lively acidity. This is rich and juicy on the finish, offering notes of white chocolate and spice. Perfect with lobster, scallops and modern American “fusion” dishes.
