Wine Review: This bright red and translucent Blaufrankisch opens with a fragrant red raspberry and strawberry rhubarb bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, smooth and round. The flavor profile is a tasty red currant with notes of juicy red raspberry. I also detected hints of mild minerality, red plum, spice drop and black pepper spice. The finish is subtle and its flavors drift away nicely. This Blaufrankisch (aka Lemberger) is very food friendly. I would pair it with a Carolina pulled pork platter. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: Medium intensity with dominant characters of blackberry, plum, black cherry and chickory and toasted rye. Medium-bodied. The fresh acidity makes it feel lighter on the palate. Dry with velvety tannins. Pair with blackened salmon or hard cheeses.
