Wine Review: This ruby colored Cabernet Franc from Dr. Konstantin Frank opens with a light raspberry and plum bouquet with hints of violets, clay, and cranberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, relatively smooth, and fresh. The flavor profile is a red licorice and red plum blend with notes of gentle graphite and green tea. We also detected hints of teaberry, black pepper, cranberry and cedar. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and its dusty tannins stick around nicely. We would pair this New York Cab Franc with a duck confit crostini with fig spread or with a smashburger.
