Wine Review: This straw-colored Sparkling Riesling from Dr. Loosen opens with an inviting shy citrus lemon bouquet. I also picked up cantaloupe and hints of bread dough. The light palate has an initial full mouth bubble feel that is crisp and fruity with balanced integrated acidity and minerality. The flavor profile is lemon, tangerine, green apple, peach along with light hints of cookie dough. The enjoyable slightly dry finish includes hints of pink grapefruit that faded away pleasantly. A crowd pleaser at this price point. I would recommend pairing with a pear, feta cheese and candied pecan salad served with vinaigrette salad dressing. - Joe

Winemaker Notes: Dr. L Sparkling Riesling is 100% pure Riesling. Known as Sekt in Germany, this wine is made using the Charmat method, where the second fermentation is done in a pressurized tank to keep the bubbles in the wine. This method produces bright, clean sparkling wines in a more affordable way, which makes it possible to offer this charming bubbler at a very nice everyday price.
