Wine Review: This dark red Syrah based blend from Drew opens with a pomegranate and red raspberry bouquet with hints of red plum and craisin. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, round, slightly acidic, juicy and fruit forward. Melded along with the fruit on the palate is a chalky minerality that is running parallel. The fruit is a ripe red plum and pomegranate blend with notes of the previously mentioned chalky minerality. I also detected hints of faint cherry and herbs as it faded away. The finish is dry and its moderate dusty tannins aid in its moderate length. This wine is food friendly and would pair well a juicy Kobe burger topped with sautéed mushrooms, caramelized onions and Swiss. Enjoy - Ken
