Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Zinfandel from Dry Creek finished in third place in our big blind tasting. It opens with a fragrant blackberry bouquet with a hint of anise, oak, and clove. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, well balanced, smooth, and savory. The flavor profile is a mild blackberry with hints of minerality, old oak, black pepper, and boysenberry. The finish is dry and its well managed tannins drift away nicely. The panel felt that this food friendly Zin would pair nicely with beef bourguignon or a fresh mozzarella salad with Balsamic dressing. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: At first swirl, this prized wine presents a special aromatic profile that is distinctive and nuanced. From the beginning, one realizes that this wine is going to be a cherished experience. Layers of briary blackberry, raspberry, exotic spice and black and white pepper come forward. On the palate, the wine is precise and expressive, building layers of flavor with elements of bittersweet chocolate and roasted coffee. Several more minutes reveal a bright earthy quality that is truly unique. This beautiful wine is a seamless experience from start to finish.
