Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored Merlot based blend opens with a black currant bouquet with a hint of blackberry, black cherry and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, balanced, juicy and round. The flavor profile a tasty spice plum, black cherry and dark chocolate blend with notes of blackberry jam and black licorice. I also detected a hint of oak on the tail end of this wine. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins and acidity display an extended length. I would give this wine a little bit of decanting in the near term as it evolves with air. I would then serve it with grilled flat iron steak. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The 2017 vintage is beautifully balanced from start to finish. Aromas of black cherry, ripe blackberry and cedar are evident at first swirl. After several minutes of airing, the wine opens up and reveals earthy spices of cedar, mushroom, dried thyme and dried sage. On the palate, the wine is delicious with a silky lushness and tannins that are elegant. Rich flavors of black currant, spiced plum and raspberry come forward with notes of allspice and fine leather. The finish is seamless and well-integrated. This wine will age beautifully and develop in the bottle for years to come.
