Wine Review: This deep ruby colored Merlot based blend from Dry Creek opens with a vanilla, red raspberry and cherry bouquet with hints of milk chocolate and campfire. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and smooth. The flavor profile is a gentle black cherry and oak blend with notes of Baker’s chocolate and cola. We also detected hints of red plum and oolong tea mixed in. The finish is dry and its moderate sturdy tannins stick around for a quite a while. The Panel suggested pairing this Meritage with a rabbit cacciatore or a rack of lamb. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The 2018 vintage is a full and complex wine that's an absolute pleasure to drink. Aromas of black and Bing cherries, white pepper, and sage waft from the glass. As the wine opens up, it reveals aromas of marzipan, bay leaf, and plum. On the palate, the wine is plush with soft tannins and full of luxuriant flavors of black currant, cardamom, sea salt caramel, and dried herbs. The finish is seamless and well-integrated. This wine will age beautifully and develop in the bottle for years to come.
