Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Zinfandel opens with a fragrant pomegranate and craisin bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced and very smooth for a Zin. The flavor profile is a red plum and black currant blend with notes of pomegranate. There were hints of black pepper, oak and fine minerality. This finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely extended. This Zin would pair well with marinated steak tips. Enjoy – Ken

Winemaker Notes: This vintage presents alluring aromatics of blackberry, boysenberry and bright Bing cherry with notes of cocoa powder, cardamom, and fine leather. On the palate, brambly layers of black cherry, blackberry and black raspberry come forward with nuances of nutmeg and white pepper. The wine is complex, with bright acidity complimented by a long, lingering finish. The tannins are structured, but soft, and lend a round, rich mouthfeel.
