Wine Review: This dark garnet colored Zinfandel from Dry Creek Vineyard opens with a dark chocolate, black plum, and dark coffee bouquet with hints of black licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, round, and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty mild black cherry and marionberry blend with notes of dark chocolate and cola. We also detected hints of tobacco, spice, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and well-managed mild tannins drift away nicely. We would pair this very friendly Zinfandel with filet mignon. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This vintage initially displays brambly aromas of blackberry and raspberry. Subtle notes of marzipan, thyme and chai spice come forward after several minutes of airing. On the palate, flavors of black cherry, ripe raspberry, and baking spices mix with soft, earthy, and floral undertones. The wine is bright with refreshing acidity and rustic tannins.
