Wine Review: This clear and dark red colored Cabernet Franc from Dry Creek Vineyard opens with a menthol and cassis bouquet with hints of black pepper and chocolate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, bright and zingy. The flavor profile is a tasty blend black plum and cinnamon gum with notes of cocoa powder and blueberry. We also detected hints of black pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and moderate sticky tannins are nicely sustained. We would pair this crowd-pleasing and easy to drink Cab Franc with grilled sirloin tips. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Cabernet Franc may trace its roots to Bordeaux, but it has found an exceptional home in Sonoma County's Dry Creek Valley. At our estate Bullock House Vineyard, Cabernet Franc consistently delivers remarkable character, allowing us to reserve a select few barrels each vintage for this limited-production wine, available exclusively at our family winery. The 2023 vintage opens with expressive aromas of raspberry, cranberry, bright plum, and boysenberry complemented by violet, white pepper, allspice and herbs de Provence. On the palate, vibrant flavors of plum, blueberry, black cherry and cranberry are layered with graphite minerality, cedar, fine leather, bay leaf, and dried rose petal. Bright acidity brings freshness and precision, while the wine’s plump, rounded texture and impressive depth carry through to a refined, lingering finish.
