Wine Review: This clear and white gold colored Sauvignon Blanc from Dry Creek Vineyard opens with a gooseberry and grapefruit pith bouquet with hints of green tea and stone fruit pit. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, very smooth, slightly viscous, and fresh. The flavor profile is a gooseberry and lemon-lime blend with notes of green tea, peach, and nectarine pit. I also detected hints of chalky minerality and ginger, and a dash of white pepper. The finish is dry, and its flavors and acidity are nicely sustained. I would pair this Sauvignon Blanc with Mahi-mahi tacos with a mango salsa. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Sauvignon Musqué is a unique clonal selection of the Sauvignon Blanc variety and a delicious interpretation of the classic varietal, crafted from a vineyard named after Taylor, Kim, and Don Wallace’s daughter. Fermented in stainless steel tanks, this vintage of Taylor’s Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc displays intense aromas of mango, passionfruit, and pineapple with a hint of guava. The palate showcases plump flavors of peach, lemonade, and orange blossom with subtle notes of grapefruit and Mandarin orange. Full of complexity and depth, the Musqué clone exhibits the luxurious, creamy mouthfeel and texture of a balanced and elegant white wine, while stainless steel fermentation preserves the excellent structure and vibrant acidity.
