Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Petite Sirah from Dry Creek opens with a blueberry and black plum bouquet with hints of black tea and licorice. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and dense. The flavor profile is a concentrated and tasty blueberry and oak blend with notes of stony minerality and chocolate. We also detected some hints of black tea and black cherry. The finish is dry, and its well-managed tannins linger and last for quite a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this Petite Sirah with New York strip steak with drunken mushrooms and roasted blue cheese potatoes. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: From the first moments of airing, this Petite Sirah exudes aromas of blackberry, black cherry and plum with nuances of nutmeg, marzipan, and fine leather. The palate is defined by flavors of black currant, cinnamon, and dark chocolate. The tannins are firm, but well integrated with a long and lingering finish. Notes of pie crust and dried herbs emerge along a deep and rich mouthfeel filled with supple tannins and a smooth texture.
