Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Franc from the state of Virginia opens with a pencil shavings and black currant bouquet with hints of dried herbs and moist pipe tobacco. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, silky smooth, and suave. The flavor profile is stewed black plum and oolong tea blend with notes of graphite and black cherry. I also detected hints of boysenberry and tobacco. The finish is dry and its flavors, acidity, and refined moderate tannins fade away nicely. I would pair this Cab Franc with a beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
