Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Merlot opens with a milk chocolate, black currant, and black plum bouquet with hints of dried coconut, pipe tobacco, and faint spearmint. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced and initially rich, and dense. With aeration, this wine smooths out beautifully. The flavor profile is cassis and dark cocoa powder blend with notes of black cherry, black licorice, and graphite. We also picked up some hints of toasted coconut, mild molasses, and oak. The finish is dry, and its flavors and dusty tannins show very nice length. The Tasting Panel would decant this wine before pairing it with a wild boar ravioli, a bacon wrapped stuffed pork tenderloin, or chocolate mousse. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The exceptional 2019 growing season produced a fascinating and elegantly full-bodied expression of Merlot at the famed Three Palms Vineyard. Luxurious aromas of black plum, boysenberry, and dark chocolate leap from the glass, followed by hints of sweet molasses and vanilla bean. On the palate, firm tannins and undercurrents of energetic acidity add brightness and poise to lush dark berry flavors, while promising a long life ahead.
