Wine Review: This clear and dark garnet colored Merlot from Duckhorn opens with a black currant and chocolate bouquet with hints of cinnamon, black cherry, pencil shaving, and violet. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, polished, round, and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is red plum and stony minerality blend with notes of raspberry tea and oak. We also detected hints of black cherry, nutmeg, and milk chocolate. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and moderate dusty tannins linger nicely. We would pair this Merlot with a grilled top sirloin steak or with pan-seared duck breast. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine opens with an alluring nose of floral notes and dark red berries, characteristic of a quintessential Napa Valley Merlot. The palate is supple and polished with a seamless integration of fruit and tannin, enhanced by the inclusion of Cabernet Sauvignon and a hint of Cabernet Franc. The long, vibrant finish highlights meticulous craftsmanship and perfect balance.
