Wine Review: This deep purple colored Pinot Noir from the Anderson Valley terrific! It opens with a black cherry, blueberry and dark chocolate bouquet with hints of balsam and jasmine. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and quite approachable. The flavor profile is a very tasty spiced red plum and acai berry blend with notes of cherry-cola, oak and clove. We also detected hints anise, mushroom and cinnamon mixed in. It is very complex. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. We would pair this gem with a five-star baked garlic pork tenderloin or duck breast with a tart cherry port wine sauce. Enjoy – Ken & Jeoff

Winemaker Notes: The 2018 Angel Camp opens with dusky blackberry and plum aromas along with savory beet and earthy notes. Christmas spices provide a lacy framework. The aromas carry through in the mouth, with sweet black cherry, purple plum, dried flowers, and sandalwood combining in a complex and harmonious balance. Round and graceful tannins give the wine an approachability now, while the breadth allows for nice aging potential. Pair with bacon quiche or spice-rubbed poultry or pork.
