Wine Review: This bright light-yellow colored Chardonnay from Marin County opens with a Bosc pear and lemon bouquet with notes of oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, pleasantly acidic, smooth and gentle. The flavor profile is a tasty lemon and gentle minerality blend with notes of white tea, pear and gentle oak. I also detected some hints of ginger in the aftertaste. The finish is dry and its flavors and nice acidity are nicely prolonged. This Chard paired very well with our Pollo e Zuzza di Zuzza (sautéed chicken with butternut squash ravioli simmered in a parmesan cheese and chiffonade fresh sage cream sauce) at Lucia's Tavola. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The cool 2018 season had our Marin Chardonnay among the last fruit we brought in. That long hang time gave us a wine with even more richness. The nose leads with Asian pear and Meyer lemon, with savory hazelnut notes providing backup. A hint of exotic tropical mango and guava chime in after time in the glass. In the mouth, ginger-laced Mandarin orange and key lime deliver focused fruit, complemented by a creaminess from the stirred lees and partial ML. Toasty lemon vanilla with a kiss of tangerine leaves you with a succulent and fresh finish. Pair with smoked trout chowder, lemon stuffed fish or lobster rolls.
