Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir opens with a pomegranate, cola, and oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth and savory. The flavor profile is a bit rustic with stewed black plum, clove, and oak with notes of anise and extracted black raspberry. I also detected some hints of black tea and teaberry towards the very end. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity and tannins are extended. This very flavorful Pinot paired perfectly with Steve’s chicken, pork, and chorizo paella. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: The signature black cherry aromas lead the away, carried on a minerally base and complemented by sassafras, cigar box, and a touch of savory herbs. Even from the smell you get the sense of the firmness and solidity of the wine to come. Sweet waves of rich black cherry continue in the mouth, supported by a scaffolding of bold tannins. Dried cranberry and pomegranate follow, with black tea providing the bass notes. Warm vanilla spice-wrapped cherry pie provides a succulent finish. The structure of the wine makes it a great match for grilled meat dishes. Try it with thyme-rubbed lamb chops marinated flank steak.
