Wine Review: This garnet-colored Pinot Noir from Dutton Goldfield opens with a red cherry and red plum bouquet with hints of pomegranate, cinnamon, and lavender. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, seamless, fresh, and bright. The flavor profile is red plum and stone dust with notes of raspberry tea and boysenberry. We also detected some hints of light loam, pomegranate, and spice. The finish is dry, and its flavors and well-managed acidity drift away nicely. The Tasting Panel would pair this Pinot with grilled pork tenderloin and cedar plank salmon. Enjoy - KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: The complex nose lets you know there's a lot going on in this wine. Dusky sandalwood incense, purple flowers, plum skin, and dried cranberry leap out, accented with savory tarragon. In the mouth, candied sour cherry fruit leads the way, with rich blueberry compote filling in the broad center. The lush texture spreads across your palate, friendly and juicy, before finishing with firm but fine tannins, making it great for enjoying now, while promising good things in the cellar. Counterpoint the fruit with savory mushroom dishes, herb-crusted fish and fowl, or truffle goat cheese.
