Wine Review: This ruby colored Pinot Noir from Elk Cove is impressive and was well received by our mini-tasting group. It opens with pomegranate and sarsaparilla bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and very easy to drink. The flavor profile is a very tasty black plum with notes of strawberry and gentle minerality. I also detected hints of oak and cola in the background. The finish is dry and its flavors and gentle tannins stick around for a little while. This Pinot is food friendly and would pair well with pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: A bright ruby gem, Clay Court shows cinnamon and saddle leather with sweet almond, spring blossoms and strawberry-rhubarb pie. Characteristics of volcanic Jory soil ring true in the palate of sweet tobacco, white pepper and raspberry compote with hints of prune and leather. Elegant tannins play with slight tension, ending in a pinnacle of grace.
