Wine Review: This clear medium ruby colored Pinot Noir from Elk Cove opens with a reserved blueberry and oak bouquet with hints of red cherry and rose petals. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, delicate, and approachable. The flavor profile is spiced red plum and crushed stone dust blend with notes of dried red cherry and hibiscus tea. We also detected hints of red licorice and a touch of cedar. The finish is dry, and its well-managed light dusty tannins have moderate length. We would pair this easy to drink Pinot Noir with a juicy pork tenderloin with garlic, thyme, and rosemary.
