Wine Review: This deep purple colored Merlot from Emmolo is very good. It opens with a mild black cherry-cola, and oak bouquet with hints of anise. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with plus acidity. The flavor profile is a black cherry and black plum blend with notes of clove and anise. I also detected hints of oak, cinnamon, black pepper, and with a touch of raspberry as well. The finish is rather dry and dusty for a Merlot. I would pair this big boy Merlot with a well-marbled ribeye steak. Enjoy – Ken
