Wine Review: This hazy deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Etude opens with a cassis and black cherry bouquet with hints of wet stone, mild tobacco, violets, and mocha. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, polished, and opulent. The flavor profile is a cassis and black cherry blend with notes of tobacco and mulberry. We also detected hints of stony minerality, cinnamon, fig, oak, and dried strawberry. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and medium refined tannins linger nicely. We would pair this Cab with a New York strip steak and with Calgary ginger beef. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Inky ruby-garnet in color, this expansive wine unveils a complex bouquet of aromas, with layers of chocolate, rich leather, kirsch, and cassis, accented by hints of dried herbs. These signature characteristics speak to the exceptional terroir of the Morisoli Vineyard on the Rutherford Bench, highlighting its signature depth and elegance. The palate is structured with fine-grained tannins and a distinct mouthfeel, speaking to the hallmark "Rutherford Dust." Subtle oak influences impart graham cracker spice, while the rich flavors of ripe plum, along with vibrant blue and black fruits, add layers of depth and complexity. Enjoy the development of this wine for years to come.
