Wine Review: This clear dark garnet colored Pinot Noir from Etude opens with an earthy, black raspberry, and wintergreen bouquet with hints of black cherry, oak, clove, and cinnamon. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, round, and elegant. The flavor profile is black raspberry tea and loam blend with notes of black licorice and black cherry. We also detected hints of black pepper, oak, and chalky minerality. The finish is dry, and its flavors, acidity, and mild tannins linger nicely. We would pair this Pinot with Italian bricole, mushroom risotto, or with shrimp and grits. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine opens with a rich bouquet of black cherry and red currant, complemented by subtle notes of black tea and ripe plum. The aromas are layered, imbuing complexity and depth. On the palate, the wine mirrors its aromatic profile with vibrant flavors of black cherry and red currant, intertwined with a hint of bay leaf, earthy minerality and linear acidity. The whole cluster fermentation imparts a distinctive nuance, while the wine’s well-integrated structure suggests that it will continue to evolve with additional bottle age, offering a promising and intriguing evolution over time.
