Wine Review: This clear and light-yellow colored Pinot Gris opens with a nectarine pit and white grapefruit bouquet with hints of ginger ale. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, round, and delicate. The flavor profile is a mild white grapefruit and white peach pit blend with notes of ginger ale and gooseberry. I also detected hints of quince. The finish is dry and its flavors and mild acidity drifts away nicely. I would pair this Pinot Gris with Ken’s creamy Caesar marinated grilled chicken. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Pinot Gris from Alsace is one of Winemaker Jon Priest's favorite varietals, so delicate, intentional winemaking crafts this lovely expression from Napa Valley. On the nose, the wine is bright and cheery with fragrant white elderflower aromatics alongside hints of lime zest, kiwi, and marzipan. On the palate, a flinty minerality comes through balanced Pablo I by tropical notes of Granny Smith apple, white peach, lime zest, and citrus blossom. The mouthfeel is lithe and supple providing depth and richness from the sur lie lees contact, giving the wine a luscious texture, weight, and body. Tremendously balanced, refreshing, and quite quaffable, the finish provides a mouth-pleasing length that is dry harvest and crisp.
