Wine Review: This slightly opaque and garnet colored Cabernet Sauvignon from South Africa is a really good value at $10. It opens with a mild black cherry and faint old oak bouquet with a hint of iron shavings. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a mild cedar influenced plum with notes of black cherry. I also detected hints of spice, black licorice and black currant. The finish is dry and its mild tannins and its flavors linger nicely. This is a very nice entry level Cab that would pair nicely with a barbecue bacon burger. Enjoy - Ken

Winemaker Notes: This delicious, crowd pleasing Cabernet is consistently named a "Best Buy." It delivers serious bang for the buck! It displays ripe blackcurrant and dried herb characters on the nose, which are backed up with some spicy oak notes. The palate is smooth and soft, with beautiful ripe tannins and a long finish.
