Wine Review: This dark red colored Grenache and Syrah blended wine from Perrin opens with a fragrant black raspberry and oak bouquet with hints of strawberry, black cherry, violets and lavender. It is a pretty complex nose. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied, slightly acidic and juicy. The flavor profile is a gentle black cherry and mild oak blend with notes of minerality and black tea. I also detected a touch of faint strawberry, blueberry and spice mixed in. The finish is dry and its flavors, gentle acidity and light dusty tannins linger nicely. This wine would pair nicely with coq au vin or a herbed veal roast. Enjoy - Ken and Mark

Winemaker Notes: Beautiful deep and bright purple color. The fruity nose reveals notes of violet and blackcurrants. The Grenache is cultivated on sandy soils here which gives this wine a soft and rich mouth with aromas of licorice and black fruit supported by soft, elegant tannins. Ageing potential between 4 to 7 years. Serve with a veal chop with morels or a crispy lamb breast.
