Wine Review: The Feudi di San Gregorio 2017 Rubrato Aglianico opens with a bouquet was filled with Damson plums, raspberries along with hints of charcoal and some iron-tinged earthiness. On the palate, the wine has notes of herb-infused balsamic vinegar, aged olive oil, rye bread, raspberry compote and an iron-rich finish. The acidity roams free in this wine but would be tamed by a nice piece of lamb or boar meat. - Nicolay

Winemaker Notes: Intense and lucid ruby red. On the nose, it recalls wild black fruit, licorice and the underbrush. In the mouth, it is balanced with a finish that is reminiscent of fresh fruit, ending with a delicate balsamic note. It combines perfectly with roasted red and white meats and eggplant parmigiana.
